The blog title is an anagram, but in reverse. I had been using esainane as a username, and curio as a general purpose “random stuff goes here” dumping ground, for about a decade prior. “Asinine Curio Chest” comes from a brute force dual search: Find a phrase which looks like a plausible initial phrase (while actually being the output), and a phrase which looks like forced anagram salad starting with “asinine curio”. The end result is excellent meta humour.
